For their 25th anniversary the Netherlands Children's Choir asked ten European composers to write a new piece for children's choir. The pieces will be published in one album by Vocaal Talent to spread this new music to other choirs around the world.

The piece is based on the poem by Paul van Oostaijen:

Avond

Ach, m'n ziel is louter klanken

In dit uur van louter kleuren;

Klanken, die omhoge ranken

In een dolle tuin van geuren.
